We are trying to pass HB116, which would repeal the Rent Control Preemption Act of 1997. Passing HB116 would allow Illinois cities and towns to implement rent stabilization measures, keeping communities intact, diminishing evictions and homelessness, and keeping rents from skyrocketing even further. Repealing this law will allow us to improve the lives of the working class. Without it, nothing will change.
